This anime series is set in the world of Gahdia, where normal humans live as well as special beings known as Edil Raids. They bear a special gem, an Erementar Gerad, which distinguishes them from normal humans. By themselves, they are normal beings, but they have the ability to "react" with a human, thereby granting the human a "weapon" form which is very powerful. While the two used to get along very well, relations have grown sour and humans often see Edil Raids as nothing but weapons. The protagonist of this feature is a sky pirate named Coud van Giruet, who, one day during a raid of another ship, discovers a large case that was confiscated from the ship. He opens it and finds a girl lying there. She is later revealed to be Reverie Metherlence, otherwise known as Ren, an Edil Raid of incredible power known as the Seventh Scintillating Treausre Tree (Shichihoukouju). Later introduced to be the main party are three members of an organization known as Arcaile, an organization that is intended to protect Edil Raids from discrimination in the outside world. They are Cisqua, Rowen, and Kuea, and they end up accompanying Coud and Ren on their journey to Edil Garden.

I don't know what to say, this anime is simply outstanding in almost all respects. Lots of plot twists keep the story nice and interesting the entire way, while the introduction of new characters keep it unpredictable as to who is on whose team and who the main antagonist of the anime is. The characters are all lovable in their own respects and they are well crafted and well developed throughout the anime. The system that is implemented as part of the story is vaguely familiar to Scrapped Princess, but, in my opinion, it's much better because it doesn't resemble anything close to mecha. The graphics also look quite good and the animation is smooth and clean. There's also enough humorous parts well dispersed throughout the series to keep you chuckling at times, but when it gets serious, it gets serious. There are certain some very deep and emotional points in the series, and when it hits, it hits hard, and you can't help but to empathize with the characters.
As for the rating, I wasn't planning on giving it a 100% because the music isn't nearly as outstanding as Tsubasa Chronicles, but this one has a definite ending, and probably the happiest possible ending as well, which scores big points in my book. So yes, I would highly recommend this anime to anybody.
Also, a note for the fansubs. I would be recommending Section-9 subs if they completely subbed the series, but from what I see, it is only subbed to episode 10. The only other two groups that have subbed it completely are Eval Power (which jointed with Nameless-Anime partway through) and Shinsen-subs. It's not even my hate for Shinsen that I recommend against it. Shinsen-subs for this anime is just HORRENDOUS. My last 3 episodes were from Shinsen, and they were horrible. So yes, I recommend Eval Power, even though they're not as good as Section 9. If you can find Section 9 subs after episode 10, go with that one, otherwise, you'll have to live with a somewhat decent EP-NA joint sub.
