| Plot Overview | This anime features a kingdom in a distant country in the desert. In there lives Syaoran, the protagonist of the anime, who lives by himself after the death of the father who adopted him, and works as an archaeologist for the nearby ruins. His childhood friend, Sakura, is the Princess of the kingdom and, while neither admits it, they have feelings for each other. One night at the excavation site, Syaoran meets Sakura there, oddly enough, and Sakura is seemingly posessed. She grows wings and begins to merge into the wall, but not before Syaoran jumps in and saves her. In the process of doing so, Sakura's feathers shatter and float off into the sky where they disappear. The high priest of the kingdom then sends Syaoran and Sakura to the Dimensional Witch where they meet up with their other two journey mates, Fye D. Flowright, a Wizard, and Kurogane, a swordsman, both from foreign worlds. Together, they travel through different dimensions in search of Sakura's lost feathers, representing her memories. But there's one catch: each must give up something valuable to them. Kurogane loses his sword, Fye loses a tattoo on his back, and Syaoran sacrifices his relationship with Sakura, in that even if she regains all of her feathers/memories, any memory of Syaoran will be wiped. |
| Thoughts/Opinions | I loved this anime. As far as Season 1 goes by itself, I can't find any faults with it. The story is very deep and emotional, the characters are well rounded, and develop even more, the protagonist is strong and can also be described as noble, the music and soundtrack is one of the best I've heard in anime (New top 10 song came from this soundtrack: Yume no Tsubasa), and the art style is excellent. I'd full recommend this one to anybody. I was hesitant to give it full marks, but I kept looking for any faults I had with it, and I couldn't find any. |
